10. Elizabeth Blackburn

Prof. Elizabeth Blackburn is a Nobel Laureate in medicine and professor of Biology and Physiology, in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). She was Born on 26 November 1948 in Australia. Blackburn won the Nobel Prize in 2009 for her research on anti-aging.  Currently, She is the President of the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. She is famous in the world for her study of telomeres and the co-discovery of telomerase, an enzyme that controls telomeres. Professor Blackburn has won many prestigious awards throughout her career.

She received the Lasker Award in clinical medicine in 2011. She was the first Chinese person to receive the Lasker Award. In 2015, Tu received the  Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.

He was Born on 4 September 1962 in Japan.  He is Professor of Anatomy at the University of California.In 2006 Yamanaka announced that he had succeeded in generating iPS cells.
